News & Tidbits: Wells Fargo Sends 200 Bankers to Teach Kids

By way of The Marysville Globe, 200 Wells Fargo bankers descended on grade schools in Washington to teach them the basics of banking.

They did it as part of the Junior Achievement Program that connects community members with schools. Wells Fargo’s free Hands on Banking program teaches individuals in all stages of life about the basics of responsible money management, including how to create a budget, save, spend wisely and more.

I'm personally a fan of getting financial professionals more engaged in community efforts to teach kids about money. On our first podcast, Darlene Martin talks about employing the same strategy through Money Smarts School of Finance for Children. If you're a financial professional, I invite you to get involved in this cause.
